Dan Mack
Dan Mack’s interest in home adaptations for seniors and individuals with disabilities developed while studying Occupational Therapy at Towson University.
Upon graduation, as Dan worked in hospitals, rehab centers, and long-term care facilities throughout the state, he developed a passion for helping these individuals avoid institutional care and remain safely in their own homes. That desire led him to start Senior Smart in 2011.
In addition to Occupational Therapy, Dan previously worked as a licensed Maryland Home Improvement Contractor, which provided practical insight he still uses each day as he interacts with Senior Smart clients and their loved ones.
Although Senior Smart has enjoyed much growth and success, Dan’s passion remains the same: to help people live safely and independently in their homes. The Senior Smart team is incredibly grateful to the thousands of clients we’ve served, each of whom has enriched us in unexpected ways and whose resourcefulness and resilience inspire our work every day.
Jen VeStrand
Jen VeStrand has served as Practice Manager at Senior Smart for more than 10 years. She is the first point of contact for Support Planners, clients, and family members across Maryland who choose Senior Smart for Environmental Assessments and Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS).
Jen ensures that each client’s Plan of Service is completed accurately, signed promptly, and returned to Support Planners without delay. By keeping this process seamless, she helps Support Planners carry out their work efficiently and enables clients to receive services in a timely manner. She also plays an important behind-the-scenes role in coordinating schedules and keeping the many moving parts of Senior Smart organized. Jen is an invaluable resource for Support Planners, clients, and our team alike.
With a diverse career background, Jen finds deep meaning in helping clients access the services they need to support safety and independence at home. Her attention to detail, clear communication, and unwavering dedication make her a vital part of the Senior Smart team.
